60-Minute Mindfulness Workshop
Workshop Activities:
1. Welcome and Introduction (10 minutes)
- Greeting: Warm welcome and connection!
- Overview: Review workshop’s purpose and session’s structure.
- Icebreaker: introductions with with a quick and fun icebreaker.
2. Understanding Mindfulness (10 minutes)
- Definition: Review what mindfulness is and its importance.
- Benefits: Discuss the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of mindfulness.
- Personal Reflection: participants shares what they hope to gain from practicing mindfulness.
3. Breathing Exercises (10 minutes)
- Introduction: Review the role of breath in mindfulness practice.
- Guided Exercise: A guided deep breathing exercise.
- Reflection: Share your experiences and feelings after the exercise.
4. Body Scan Meditation (10 minutes)
- Introduction: Review what a body scan meditation is and its benefits.
- Body Scan Meditation: a body scan meditation, guiding you to focus on different parts of your body.
- Reflection: opportunity to share your experience and any insights.
5. Mindful Observation (10 minutes)
- Introduction: Review the concept of mindful observation.
- Guided Exercise: Participate in a guided meditation with an object of importance to you. You will learn to observe it mindfully, noting its details, texture, color, and smell.
- Reflection: Opportunity to share experience and its impact on your awareness and focus.
6. Integrating Mindfulness into Daily Life (10 minutes)
- Techniques: Learn practical tips and techniques for integrating mindfulness into everyday activities (e.g., mindful eating, walking, and listening).
7. Q&A and Closing (10 minutes)
- Questions: The floor opens for any questions!
